Our Friends

We think our friends are great! So we've dedicated a whole page to the wonderful companies, charities, and associations who are doing fantastic work and who we would highly recommend to any of our clients.

From fish and reptiles, cats and dogs, right up to horses, we believe no pet is too big or small.

As genuine animal lovers and pet owners, we know how important choosing the right pet care is, and just how hard it can be.

We aim to make that decision easier for you, we give peace of mind to both you and your pets.

The late Barbara Butcher MBE and Phyllis Cooper started BTR in 1976. The current team of volunteers continue to offer their time for free to help this wonderful breed.  BTRF is totally self funded and work extremely hard to raise the necessary monies to be able to continue helping rescued Bedlingtons and their crosses that need new homes.  We are also fortunate to have a team of behaviourists / trainers on the team who are able to offer backup and support to dogs and their new owners when needed.

In December 2017 we became a Registered Charity and we are looking forward to taking the Bedlington Terrier Rescue Foundation from strength from strength in 2018!

The APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) is a voluntary organisation established to improve the welfare of dogs and the competence of dog owners through the promotion of training skills and techniques based on up to date, researched, methods that apply the principles of kindness fairness and effectiveness and are in keeping with modern learning theory.

The Importance of Dog Training and Behaviour

Our approach to dog training and behaviour is positive, kind, effective and sets your dog up to succeed by shaping behaviours and setting achievable goals and expectations. We aim to provide a tailored training plan that is as individual as your dog, whilst also giving you the knowledge and confidence to continue the training independently with our ongoing support.

Set up in 2010, we are a not for profit organisation which maintains the List of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists (RCHs) in the UK. NARCH ensures that all RCHs adhere to the highest professional standards and ethics.

You can check any hydrotherapist on our register and their qualifications, training and continual professional development record. Pet owners, referring veterinary professionals and pet insurance providers can be confident that dogs in the care of an RCH receive the highest standards of treatment.
