Service Description

You are invited to join us for the first of our bi-monthly dog & cat seminars! Learn more about the furry friends in your life direct from the experts. We've teamed up with top behaviourists, vets, vet nurses, groomers, dog walkers and other pet professionals to bring you some fascinating, insightful and entertaining talks! The talk will last for approximately 45 mins with the chance to ask questions at the end. Afterwards you are welcome to stay and join us for a glass of fizz and the opportunity to chat to the speaker or indulge in a little late night shopping. Each seminar will also support an animal charity with all ticket sale proceeds, raffle proceeds and 10% of any till takings on the night going to the nominated charity. Our inaugural talk is all about preparing you for life with a rescue dog. "Having made the wonderful and very rewarding decision to take on a rescue dog what next? Many rescue dogs come with behavioural ‘baggage’ – often we don’t know much about their history, they will very likely have come directly from a kennel environment, which in itself is stressful and then they have to adapt to yet another change when they come into our home. So, what should we expect in the first few days and weeks and what can we do to help our rescue dog settle into their new environment and be able to enjoy their forever home! This seminar will guide you through this process and is a must for all new rescue dog owners or those thinking about bringing a rescue dog into their family." Presented by Kaye Scott (MAPDT) – dog trainer and behaviourist at Right Start Dog Training and the volunteer Training and Behaviour Advisor for the Bedlington Terrier Rescue Foundation – a charity that rescues and rehomes Bedlington Terriers and their crosses throughout the UK.
